This group of Pennsylvania Railroad 86’ quad door boxcars was delivered in July of 1965 and initially assigned for loading at a GM plant in Indianapolis. PRR had long been a proponent of general service freight car designs but the 1960s brought a flood of new specialized cars such as these.
