Kato catalog number 106-6293 is an N scale two-car set of Amtrak Amfleet II coaches finished in the classic Phase III scheme, carrying road numbers 25000 and 25068. This is Kato's first run of its Amfleet II tooling in Phase III paint, officially licensed by Amtrak.

Amtrak began taking delivery of the Amfleet II fleet in 1981. Built on the same Budd-derived stainless steel tubular carbody as the earlier Amfleet I cars, the Amfleet II was tailored to long-distance service with larger windows, fewer end doors and roomier seating, and the type still works Amtrak's eastern long-haul trains today.
