Overview

Viewliner II: The Viewliner II represents the first major expansion of Amtrak’s single-level long-distance fleet since the 1990s. Built by CAF USA, these cars are modernized with 125 mph capability and updated interiors. The most significant shift in the II series is the removal of in-room toilets from Roomettes , moving them to shared restrooms at the end of the car to align with Superliner standards. Kato produces all types of Viewliner II including, Baggage, Sleepers, Diners, Baggage-Dormitory Cars. Model Features: Designed to operate along with Kato’s HO Superliners. Metal weights give prototypical heft and momentum Optional kinematic couplers allow prototypical close coupling while still navigating tight radius curves. Able to be illuminated with Kato’s optional 7-504 interior lighting kit. Designed with easily illuminated marker lights with optional light board Free rolling, detailed trucks with rotating bearing caps and shock absorber construction.
