Description
Lionel's O gauge four-bay 100-ton hopper is decorated for Union Pacific as UP 44698, with a black body, bright yellow ends and slope sheets and large white UNION PACIFIC lettering.
- BLT 5-79 and 7-77 build data, H-100-18 class lettering and 195,000 pound capacity stencilling
- Molded plastic body with detail cast in for durability
- Weighted so it tracks reliably even when empty
- Die-cast trucks with operating couplers using hidden tabs

From the 1960s through the 1990s American railroads bought these high-capacity hoppers in huge numbers and ran them in solid unit trains. The run this car belongs to also includes two Bicentennial celebration schemes, for the Bessemer & Lake Erie and the Chicago & North Western.
