The tooling follows the Pennsylvania Railroad class I1 Decapod, 598 of which were built from 1916 and which worked the Alleghenies into the late 1950s. The Illinois Central number is defensible - IC rebuilt fifteen Decapods of its own in 1939, class 3610, numbered 3610 to 3624, so 3617 falls in that series - but those were a different rebuild, so read this as IC lettering on a PRR pattern rather than a model of the IC prototype. MTH publishes no UPC or weight, so the barcode is left empty and the weight is an estimate; country of manufacture is inferred as China.
