Rapido 40542 HO Scale National Railway Equipment EMD GP40 #3152 (DCC/Sound)

Rapido Trains models EMD GP40 number 3152 as it looks today in National Railway Equipment's lease fleet, still wearing Kansas City Southern grey with an NREX patch. The HO scale model comes from Rapido's all-new GP40 tooling and carries an ESU LokSound V5 decoder with Rapido's Mo-Power capacitor.

Number 3152 was built for the Western Pacific, sold to Gateway Western in the early 1990s, joined the KCS roster later that decade and was repainted into the KCS grey scheme before NRE bought it. The GP40 was the gold standard of four-axle power, with more than 1,000 built for 30 railroads from 1965 to 1971.
