Description

This N scale Bachmann Silver Series model captures the Northeast-style steel cupola caboose in Lehigh Valley colors as car #95002, finished in tuscan boxcar red with yellow and black trim.

  • N scale Northeastern steel cupola caboose, ready to run
  • Detailed painted body with precision graphics
  • Separately applied cupola, smokestack, ladders, railings and brake wheels
  • Clear windows
  • Detailed underbody with separately applied brake rigging
  • Added weight for reliable tracking
  • Body-mounted magnetic E-Z Mate Mark II couplers
  • Blackened metal RP25 wheels

The prototype was among the first standardized caboose designs ordered by several railroads at once, based on 1920s Reading Railroad drawings that followed World War One era United States Railroad Administration practice, and its raised cupola let the conductor watch the train ahead. Cars of this type worked through the 1980s on eastern roads, and a number survive today in museum and excursion service.
