Micro-Trains 02544441 N Scale Southern Pacific 50' Boxcar Weathered #19009

Micro-Trains N scale 50-foot rib-side single-door box car without roofwalk, an ex-Railbox car repatched into Southern Pacific service as SP #19009 - and weathered at the factory. It is car number five in Micro-Trains' Railbox Repatched series.

• Factory weathered, with the Railbox yellow faded and rust bleeding through the ribs

Micro-Trains' own note: built in the mid-1970s for Railbox, this 50 foot boxcar soon made its way to the Southern Pacific fleet. Railbox was a 1974 Trailer Train pooled-boxcar venture - Next Load, Any Road - and as the pool wound down individual railroads absorbed and repatched the cars, which is exactly what this model depicts. Careful with the distributor string: the SP here is Southern Pacific, not Norfolk Southern. Era reflects the car's late-life weathered appearance; SP was absorbed by Union Pacific in 1996.
