Rapido 53028 HO Scale Northern Pacific FT A+B Set #5406A/5406B (Analog DC)

Rapido's HO scale EMD FT A+B set is decorated for Northern Pacific in the Pine Tree scheme of dark brown with gold striping, carrying road numbers 5406A and 5406B. This is the standard DC, silent version: it runs on conventional DC straight from the box and is DCC-ready with a 21-pin interface for an easy decoder or sound upgrade later.

The EMD FT is the locomotive that dieselized America. Built from 1939 to 1945, it was the first commercially successful diesel road freight unit and gave the world EMD's bulldog nose. Each unit had a 1,350 hp 567 prime mover; 555 A units and 541 B units were built, most working as semi-permanently coupled 2,700 hp A+B sets, many into the 1960s.
