Description
The EMD FT is the locomotive that dieselized America, and Rapido's HO scale rendition arrives here as a Reading A+B set in the Reading black and green scheme, carrying road numbers 256A and 256B.

Built from 1939 to 1945, the FT was the first commercially successful diesel road freight unit and gave the world EMD's bulldog nose. Each unit had a 1,350 hp 567 prime mover; 555 A units and 541 B units were built, most working as semi-permanently coupled 2,700 hp A+B sets, many into the 1960s.
