Kato 1372025 N Scale Amtrak GG1 Phase I #906 (Analog DC)

Kato N scale GG1 electric in Amtrak Phase I paint - platinum mist carbody with a red nose, and the red-over-blue swoosh wrapping the nose and running the length of the body - carrying road number 906. The mechanism is DCC friendly, taking a drop-in Digitrax DN163K1D or TCS K1D4-NC decoder; as supplied it runs on analog DC.

Amtrak inherited GG1 operation on the Northeast Corridor and bought thirty of the locomotives outright, renumbering them into the 900-929 series that #906 belongs to, plus twenty-one more on lease. Repainted out of Penn Central black into Phase I silver, red and blue, they worked the corridor until Amtrak ended GG1 service on 26 April 1980. Kato publishes no UPC and no weight, so the barcode is left empty and the weight is an estimate; country of manufacture is inferred as Japan. Kato's factory-DCC version is a different item number, 137-2025-DCC.
