About This Item
Completed in January 1940, the Kagero-class destroyer Yukikaze saw action throughout the Pacific Ocean at the Dutch East Indies, Midway, Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands, the Marianas, and Leyte Gulf. She always returned safely from each sortie and was among the few Japanese warships still operational at the end of the war, earning her the nickname the "lucky destroyer." This 1/350 full-display model depicts Yukikaze as she appeared during the 1945 Battle for Okinawa.
