Bachmann HO scale 50 foot sliding door box car from the US Saving Bonds series, lettered for Conrail #269198. The car is boxcar brown with white BUY AND HOLD U.S. SAVINGS BONDS lettering, a small Stars and Stripes emblem and a spray of white stars trailing from the Conrail wheel logo on the right-hand panel. Conrail was created on 1 April 1976 out of the bankrupt Penn Central and five other northeastern railroads, so this particular car dates from later in the Savings Bonds era than the rest of the series.
