Bachmann HO scale 50 foot sliding door box car from the US Saving Bonds series, lettered for the Louisville & Nashville #109208. The car is blue with bold yellow L&N lettering, DF loader stencils and the white Share in Freedom torch graphic with BUY U.S. SAVINGS BONDS on the right-hand panel. No roofwalk.

The Louisville and Nashville was the South's big granger and coal road, running from the Ohio River to the Gulf until it was folded into the Family Lines and then the Seaboard System in 1982-83. Between the late 1960s and the early 1970s a number of railroads promoted the U.S. Savings Bonds program by turning box cars into rolling billboards for it, and Bachmann's five-scheme series recreates that run of cars. Bachmann publishes no weight for these cars, so the figure shown is an estimated shipping weight, and country of manufacture is not stated and is listed as China by convention.
